Fun With The Immortal George Carlin
- The very existance of flamethrowers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, "You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done."
- When cheese gets it's picture taken, what does it say?
- Frisbeetarianism is the belief that when you die, your soul goes up on the roof and gets stuck.
- Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach him how to fish, and he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day.
- Atheism is a non-prophet organization.
- Don't sweat the petty things and don't pet the sweaty things.
- I have as much authority as the Pope, I just don't have as many people who believe it.
- I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman, "Where's the self-help section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
- I'm completely in favor of the separation of Church and State. My idea is that these two institutions screw us up enough on their own, so both of them together is certain death.
- Just cause you got the monkey off your back doesn't mean the circus has left town.
- Some people see things that are and ask, Why? Some people dream of things that never were and ask, Why not? Some people have to go to work and don't have time for all that.
- You know an odd feeling? Sitting on the toilet eating a chocolate candy bar.
- I don’t have pet peeves — I have major psychotic fucking hatreds!
- I never fucked a ten, but one night, I fucked five twos.
- What year did Jesus think it was?
- And now, in the interest of equal time, here is a message from the National Institute of Pancakes: It reads, and I quote, “Fuck waffles.”
- The planet is fine. The people are fucked.
George Carlin 1937-2008
So long, George and thanks for the funny. The Leeman will miss you.
Rest In Peace, George Carlin

George Carlin has passed away at the age of 71.

He was a great and insightful satirist, and absolutely brilliant in his comedic delivery. His wry observations on life, coupled with his calling-out of the hypocrisy of, well, just about everyone and everything, made him one of the most appealing comics I ever heard.
He bitched about EVERYTHING… but did it in a way that made you double over with laughter.

More Hatred Spewed Toward the Brother 7820 Printer
I’m sitting in my hotel room, it’s raining outside and I’m relaxing with a cold one… and still, The Brother 7820N printer pisses me off.
If they sent the Brother 7820N printer back in time to change history, history would not be changed, it would simply be stuck.
The Brother 7820N printer auditioned for the role of Col. Jack O’Neil in the STARGATE SG-1 TV series, but lost the role to Richard Dean Anderson. The Brother 7820N Printer’s range was limited. Limited. COMPARED TO RICHARD DEAN ANDERSON.
The Brother 7820N Printer voted for Ralph Nader back in 2004.
Mexicans don’t like the Brother 7820N Printer. The Brother 7820N Printer’s feelings toward Mexicans… remain unclear.
Bruce Lee once tried to devise a martial art based on the mechanics of the Brother 7820N Printer, but abandoned the project as he realized it involved one sticking one’s foot up their own ass.
The Brother 7820N drinks the cheapest, crappiest beer on the planet: Miller Genuine Draft.
If shit got the Brother 7820N Printer on it, shit would wipe it off.
That printer’s gotta be made of jam, cuz jelly don’t jam like that.

Years
She says it takes years to develop a following on this thing. I really don't want that.
I also really don't want to pepper this this with ads and such. This isn't NASCAR. This is a Chronicle.
How does one meet folk in the blogiverse?
Someone tell me. I'm a savant. Someone has to tell me at least once (ok, twice) and then I'll know.

KILLING THE LEEBO SHOW
Sure, it's been a great way to blow off steam and chronicle my travels.
Of course, it's been a major funny. How could it not be? It's The Leebo Show.
Heck, yeah, I've really enjoyed doing it.
But really.... is anybody reading this junk?
I mean, I get people sending me e-mail or commenting on Myspace on how they love the blog.
But then I look at the blog and see nothing but "0 comments".
That dissapoints me. If you read the blog, comment on the blog. Yeesh.
I really wanted this blog thing to take off. Have some fun, maybe meet some new people.
The only things I've met are two birds, a squirrrel, and angry hornet and now, a snake. And I've killed them all. Oh, and I've met North Carolina Law Enforcement. Boy, were they fun.
It's not taking off.
I have reservations about continuing this endeavor.
It's going nowhere fast.

The Brother 7820N: A complete piece of crap.
The Brother 7820N printer is, quite frankly, one of the single biggest pieces of shit technology ever conceived by human minds. It’s paper jam capacity alone is exponential and defies logic or science.
If we could actually program how much it jams paper, we could send the technology to the Iranians and never have to worry about their capability for nuclear planning. Because said plans would be jammed constantly in a piece of shit Brother 7820N printer.
It works about as well as a left-handed spanner wrench.
I FEEL SAFE IN.... AH, SOUTHEASTERN NORTH CAROLINA ABSOLUTELY SUCKS!
The big semi I just loaded was in my way. I have a single line on the road, I go to pass the truck.
The single line turns to a double line as I pass the truck. You know what's coming.
$170 citation from your stiff-ass-piece-of-human-garbage North Carolina State Trooper.
He tried to bait me into an arguement. He wanted to fight. He wanted some action.
I could have tried to explain about the line but something told me not to. I just said "I'm sorry" numerous times and let him do what he had already made his mind up to do anyway.
Something tells me I got off easy, being the out-of-towner and all.
One of mi Hispanic amigos told me this morning that the same cop was hassling him at the store around the corner just minutes before he popped me.
And get this... on my citation, under "race", the cop wrote "Hispanic".
The Leeman is NOT Hispanic. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
But now that North Carolina has officially rendered me Hispanic, I officially no longer feel safe in North Carolina.
Fuck this place.
06/16/08 - An addendum: The owner of this place says that they put up a roadblock looking for drunk Mexicans. I know I've been profiled... I just don't know if it's the drunk part or the Mexican part. Dos Mios!

TRUCK DRIVERS ARE IDIOTS PART 3... and they're big babies too.

He's in Surf City, NC. About an hour and a half away from here.
I give him the directions. He doesn't understand because he's stupid. He's a truck driver.
After much conversing, he finally gets it. And he freaks and starts yelling at me.
"WHY THEY HELL DID HE GIVE ME THESE DIRECTIONS, I"M ALL THE WAY OUT HERE...DAMN IT, I GOTTA GO BACK!!!!!!"
I respond in kind.
"HOW THE HELL AM I SUPPOSED TO KNOW WHY? I'm not the guy who gave you the directions, but I can get ya here!"
There's a pause.
"Well, you don't have to yell at me," he says.
Yeesh.
Well, I'm sorry you got your little feelings hurt.
Jackass.

A DESPERATE ATTEMPT TO MAKE ELIZABETHTOWN, NC INTERESTING...

Let's hoist one to 5 O'Clock Charlie
I'm having ramdom chaotic thoughts in North Carolina...
I think a good name for a band would be Clattering Shatner.
I had someone say that I shouldn't wear my "Remember The Alamo" T-shirt around the Mexicans I work with. I replied "Why? They won, didn't they?"
To date, no Mexican I work with has been traumatized by my "Remember the Alamo" T-Shirt.
Why would the cleaning people in my hotel clean the room but leave the pizza box? Twice?
There's really no berry in the world like a blueberry. Unless you count all those other berries.
When you attack a Mexican guy wearing a wrestling mask, they draw their knife, but they don't cut you, they smile and think you're really, really cool.
I think when people in British Columbia are asking you a month ahead of time when you are going to British Columbia, it bodes well for a real good time in British Columbia.
I can't wait to go somewhere where there are no deer heads on the walls. I don't like looking at walls that look back.
Bruce Nessler, I'm glad you looked me up you crazy sunnuvabitch. I'm looking forward to the clink.
When you haven't had it for 2 weeks, my God, it's amazing what 8 hours of sleep will do.

TRUCK DRIVERS ARE IDIOTS
And now I must vent.Let this be known to all throughout this universe, throughout history, and throughout all time... The Leeman HATES truck drivers.
This hatred is not irrational. This hatared is not haphazard. This hatred has been throughly nutured and cultivated through many days and mainly nights of dealing with their sorry, stupid asses.
Not all truck drivers are bad. Some of them are pretty good at what they do. A few are actually smart. Smart enough to bathe. But they are few and far between. Most truck drivers are idiots.
If you are a truck driver, and you haul produce loads, there's something wrong with you. Chances are, you're a f-ing idiot. Society dropped you on your head and it didn't do anything but crack the linoleum on the floor. Your retardation is the stuff of legend. Yogi Bear could outthink you and he is a cartoon. And come to think of it, so are you. An angry, stupid, smelly, hungry little cartoon. You are a life reject. The Leeman hates you.
You want examples on how dumb truck drivers can be? I got 'em. Hell, I'm writing a book. Portions of that book could very well appear on THE LEEBO SHOW, too. It's rich with comedic frustration, just like me dealing with truck drivers.
But let's just take yesterday for a good example.
Not only did I have drivers coming in to pick up blueberries with their refrigeration units not on, but the following actually happened.
Truck driver comes in, says he has a load to pick up.
"What order are you picking up?" I ask.
"Blueberries," he says.
Well, the day's off to a fine start.
"Your order, dude," I tell him. "What order number are you picking up? What's your pickup number?"
He proceeds to tell me he doesn't have a pickup number.
Sigh.
"Can't load your truck without an pickup number, dude, go call The Dispatcher and get your pickup number, " I tell him.
So the driver goes to his truck and I go back to whatever it is I do.
My phone rings. Hello?
It's the truck driver. "Yeah, I'm callin' to get my pickup number."
I look out the window and he's standing there on the phone. With me. Just outside my office window.
I decide to screw with him a little. "OK, let me just ask you...we've been trying to get ahold of you all day... where are you? ... are you at the pickup?"
"Yeah."
"At the farm."
"Yeah. I'm at the farm. The guy in the office says I need a pickup number. The sorry son of a bitch."
"OK," I say. "I need you to do something for me.....turn around and look in the Shipping Office window."
He turns around and looks. I wave to him with the phone in my ear.
"I'm not the sorry son of a bitch you have to GET THE NUMBER FROM, you jackass," I tell him. "I'm the sorry son of a bitch YOU HAVE TO GET THE NUMBER TO." I'm waving at him the whole time I'm saying this.
His eyes bug out of his head.
"Oh. uh.... sorry..." he says.
One day I am going to decide that I want truck drivers out of my life FOREVER.
And that... is going to be one interesting day.

I FEEL SAFE IN NORTH CAROLINA, PART 2
So... I'm driving the great PT Cruiser named Serenity back to the hotel around 10:30pm, after my 16 hour stressful day, through the dark and winding back roads of Nowhere, North Carolina. One of my biggest fears is running into a deer. I've been told "If you want to see deer around here, drive fast." So, I am driving nice and slow.
And I come around the corner and there one is. The first (live) deer I've seen the entire time I have been here. That's counting last year too.
I've seen a lot of deer here staring at me from various walls. This is the first one I have ever seen actually breathing. And I'm grateful, not just for the opportunity, but for the fact that he's not on my current body count tally (See post "An impressive body count").
He's standing in the middle of S.R. 210 just looking at me. I stop and stare right back. He's a majestic looking animal, big ol' antlers and eyes glowing in my lights. He's actually quite beautiful.
I find myself asking why someone would want to shoot such a fine looking animal. I'll have to ask whoever owns the establishment who's wall that deer's head will grace in the future that very question later on.
So I edge Serenity closer and he bounds in to the woods. Wow.
I continue my 28 mile journey to the hotel, driving slowly, driving slowly. My head is poundng and it feels like someone has a huge clamp on the back of my neck. It's been a very stressful day. I need sleep. I need truck drivers out of my life.
I get to the intersection of S.R. 210 and S.R. 41 and who is there to greet me? That's right, your friendly neighborhodd stiff-ass North Carolina State Troopers. Four of them to be exact. One on each corner of the intersection.
Now I have noticed one thing about the cops around here. They are all stiff. I mean really stiff. Stick-up-the-ass-go-to-church-3-times-on-Sunday-no-sense-of-humor-watch-a-lot-of-C-Span stiff.
The policeman walks up to my car and I roll the window down, resisting any tired attempt at humor and instantly chucking the "Got any tickets to the Ball?" joke to the mental weeds.
He asks me to get out of the car. I comply. He asks for my license, I give it to him. He walks around my car, giving it and my Florida license the serious once-over.
He hands my license back. "You been drinking this evening, sir?" he asks.
"No sir, I've been working." I reply.
"Working?"
"Yes, sir. On the blueberry farm. Late night tonight."
"Where you heading?" he asks.
"Days Inn Elizabethtown, sir. I've had a long day and I have to be up early tomorrow. I have a date with my pillow."
Now at this point, he looks me up and down. He literally looks me up and down. I felt like meat.
Then he says "You have a safe weekend, sir."
"I'm working all weekend, officer, I don't really have a choice," I reply.
Allright, maybe I didn't resist all attempts at humor.
But the look on his face proved one thing I already knew.
Many people in North Carolina don't find me very amusing.
