Well, tomorrow, The Dark Knight returns, and I can't wait. The buzz for this movie is unbelievable. They're talking Oscar nomination for Heath Ledger's Joker. Wow.
Let me repeat that: AN OSCAR NOMINATION. For a dead guy playing a comic book character.
My, my. I can't wait to see it.
I'm was a little concerned when I saw the makeup. I have to admit, I wasn't a fan of it. But I am going in with an open mind and if he only half lives up to the hype, i should have a good time.
I'm lucky I'm in B.C. when this movie opens. While I would love to see it in IMAX, I don't know if there is an IMAX theater around. If there is, it's in Vancouver, and I'll check it out before I go home. I'm lucky, I could still be in Nowhere, N.C. and not get to see it until weeks after the release (a la Indiana Jones).
I'll be seeing it in a nice little theater in a town called Mission. Pretty wierd little town, the whole town is built into the side of a mountain... perfect for seeing a twisted take on the Joker. I saw The Simpsons Movie there last year and enjoyed the place. They have all the bells and whistles (Dolby, Digital screen) for a great viewing experience.
They say it's Heath's movie. The folk at Aint it cool (who I trust) are ga-ga over his performance. I just hope I can get out of work at a decent hour to see it.
A nice steak, a few shots of Crown, new Batman movie.
Hell yeah. Game on.
