I've been wrestling with a little depression. With my job aburtply cut short and my persuit of another one, it's been trying.
Every once and while, some little thing will inspire me. Today was one of those days.
I was watching one of my favorite things on the planet, Joss Whedon's FIREFLY and SERENITY.
Yes, I'm a Browncoat, and I aim to misbehave.
And if you have never watched FIREFLY or SERENITY, you are missing out. And I don't like you. Because you're probably named "Gary". And fun is alien to you.
But I have been watching my DVD's and I love this show/movie. It's a western. And it's sci-fi. And the writing and characters are fantastic. I adore it.
And I'm watching this one episode.
At the end of the episode, I heard this. And it resonated. Because it's about survival, and that's precisely where I'm at right now.
It's my new mantra.
Because I'm here, now. And I've been here before. And we've all have been here. And it's important. It's damned important, especially in hard times.
And it goes kinda like this:
"We're still flying."
"That's not much."
"It's enough."
"That's not much."
"It's enough."
Hey, inspiration comes where it comes.
And when all this is over, and things get settled, well......I aim to misbehave.
And I'm taking some of you with me.
