National Championships and what-have-you

Football thoughts, and a shocking revelation await you on this post.

First off, YOUR FLORIDA GATORS are National Champions! What an awesome game, and I'm glad to have gotten out of Strawberry Hell for a brief, shining moment to watch the game. What a game. Urban Meyer, Tim Tebow, Percy Harvin and the lot are one of the greatest teams in NCAA history. Oh it's true, it's true. It's great to be in Gator Nation.

Second, because of Strawberry Hell, I haven't had a chance to mention Sunday's NFL playoff game between my beloved Phins and the Baltimore Thugs. The Thug defense was simply better than our offense, and Chad Pennington didn't help matters much throwing atrocious interceptions.

Still, what a great turnaround. From 1-15, to 11-5, AFC East Champs, knocking the Patsies and Jets out of the playoffs and getting the Jets head coach fired... well, from a Dolfan standpoint, what you got there is a pretty successful season, my friend. It's great to be in Dolphin Nation.

Also.... why is the media so enamoured by Ray Lewis? Didn't he kill a guy once? Huh.

Anyway, right now I like the Eagles to win in the NFC and the Raven look tough to beat in the AFC. We'll see.

Now, for a shocking revelation.

2008 was probably my greatest football year ever. Consider, I went to..

  • The Capitol One Bowl, Gators vs Michigan on New Years Day 01/01/08.

  • The Orlando Predators vs the Tampa Bay Storm, Arena Football.

  • The Tampa Bay Bucs vs the Seattle Seahawks, where they retired Mike Alstott's jersey at the half.

  • The Miami Dolphins vs the Oakland Raiders

  • And the British Columbia Lions vs the Edmonton Eskimos in Vancouver, BC.

Think about it.

How many people do you knwo who took in a NCAA game, a NFL game, a CFL game and an AFL game in the same year?

Not many, I'll bet.

Plus I won The Grudiron against Grudly Mandinko.

The Leeman.

Truly a FOOTBALL GOD.
